The very sexy Sophia Bush heads up this remake of the 1986 cult classic in honour of its 21st anniversary no doubt, and you’re all going to hate me but I dug it!
The film begins as Jim Halsey (Zachary Knighton) picks up his sexy girlfriend Grace (Bush) for a road trip to meet her friends. The duo are traveling through heavy rain when they almost hit a man standing in the middle of the road. The couple are scared, so flee the scene, only to run into the man later at a gas station. Feeling bad about the earlier incident, Jim agrees to take the man to the nearest Motel, but it isn’t long before he realizes that the hitcher is a complete psycho who intends to kill both him and Grace. They manage to get him out of the car, but this sets in motion a deadly road trip where the duo are stalked, tortured and framed for murder before a final confrontation.
Firstly, how hot was THAT car? I realize that Dave Meyers has made a 90 minute music video complete with all the techniques that make teen girls run out and by CD’s in their millions, but I fell for every one of his techniques. The locations are awesome, the stunts are amazing, the cast are hot and there are all manner of gory murders and accidents along the way too.
OVERALL SUMMARY
It may not be as good as the original, but it’s way better than the dreadful sequel that came out a few years back.
