    Urban Massacre (2002)

    0
By Phil Davies Brown on October 7, 2003 Reviews

This film was pushed back from it’s original July UK release date until last week, and I was very curious especially when the packaging boasted of such
merits as music sequences that can easily compete with big budget movies
and had the bare faced cheek to describe itself as a cross between
‘Valentine’ and ‘Scary Movie’. It was all lies!!!!

This is the worst post-modern horror effort I have ever witnessed!!!! Not
to mention that this is NOT a horror movie!!!

Concerning the rise of rap group The Supanatchuralz, from their humble
beginnings in the ghetto to D-list minor celebrity, the film is a
politically incorrect, racist, sexist, ignorant piece of TRASH!!!!

This is amateur film making at its absolute worst!! We hear the director
giving directions in one scene, the actors constantly look at the camera
in the middle of shots, dailies are inserted to bump up the running time
(either that or the editor is utterly incompetent and can’t even label
files properly), the sound is often out of sync, frames overlap and the
sound effects are more amateur than those used in my college video
    projects!!!! This is utter garabage!!!!

The characters or should I say the group of people attempting to act in
this film should be embarrassed. We have a white girl (who thinks she is
black) portrayed as frigid, a fat white guy who is a carbon copy of Jamie
Kennedy’s ‘Randy’ from ‘Scream’ who spouts out fan facts about the horror
genre in the middle of unrelated conversations, and even worse is the fact
that every black man in this is portrayed as a ‘Playa’ and every black
woman is ‘a gold digging Ho’.

I was offended by this film and I’ve seen some pretty hardcore horror in
my time!! I remain absolutely disgusted that people participated in this
and that it was ever released especially as it is still partly unedited!!

I could not wait for the killer, who is dressed as a clown, totally
unscary and fails to cover up properly (in some scenes a white man plays
him and in others a black man, you can tell as his legs are visible) to
start butchering the cast and even that was redundant, what with stage
acting (everything exaggerated) and very little blood.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
This film is absolutely repugnant!!! I am furious that crap like this
continues to be churned out when there are so many intelligent and
creative film makers struggling to get a break!! For those of you who
read my review of ‘Altered Species’ beware as this is a hundred times
    worse at least!!!
