This showed a lot of promise as it has a cast full of familiar teen faces including Charlie Weber (Buffy) Kerri Lynn Pratt (Cruel Intentions 2)
Adria Dawn (Popular) Josh Hammond (Jeepers Creepers 2) Lauren German (The
Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and ‘The Dentist’ himself Corbin Bernsen.
Unfortunately, I watched this back to back with ‘Slash’ and the first
off-putting feature was the inclusion of Craig Kirkwood who played ‘Token
Black Guy’ in ‘Slash’ and had annoyed the hell out of me! (I must say he
was fine here though so he must be a hell of an actor because his
character irritated me in ‘Slash’).
The second set-back was that the writer had tried too hard to make generic material different, and therefore we are treated to a silly romp about
some gimpy goth pretentious mama’s boy, who kills people with crows and
ravens and all things supernatural?? I know….it was hard to decipher
the storyline from the drivel contained within.
The quality is poor (even for a film shot on digital video) as is the
pacing, acting and plot. It’s maybe just me, but when an editor can’t
even be bothered to make the sound play in sync with the vision, I just
can’t seem to care! If it was just a faulty DVD I apologise…but you
really should sort it out!!
OVERALL SUMMARY
A promising film with arguably one of the best cast lists in recent years
is ruined by a hokey plot. However, the music is very good, especially
the tune played over the end credits!
