This low budget film which was written and directed by Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores a.k.a The Butcher Brothers was slow and dull in my opinion. I really didn’t enjoy it all that much.
The Hamiltons centres on the titular family who have been left to fend for themselves after the deaths of their parents. We learn about the collective through youngest sibling Francis, who is using an old camera to make a film about his family. It soon transpires that they hide some very dark and disturbing secrets.
I just couldn’t get into this at all. It’s competently made and I have no doubts about the talents of the cast and crew but the whole thing just didn’t work for me personally.
I don’t consider myself a gorehound and I’m all for thinking man’s horror but this was boring. It’s mildly shocking I guess (although it isn’t really overtly violent or that gory) but I wasn’t sure what to make of it.
OVERALL SUMMARY
I honestly think that if anyone out there is curious about this film, they should make up their own minds as they may like it, but I personally found it slightly tedious.
