Craig Singer’s promising looking slasher movie Dark Ride was possibly the dullest, slowest movie I have seen in months. The film focuses on a group of college students who take a detour to the titular location during a road trip, unaware that the place has a bloodthirsty escaped mental patient hiding inside. Basically, Dark Ride looked cool, but is unfortunately less scary than a spin on the Waltzers.
The film starts out bland with an obligatory murder. We then have to sit through an hour of practical jokes and ghost stories before anyone dies, and even then it happens off screen.
The deaths are crap, the chase scenes have little to no suspense present and the ending is shit. I may seem very negative in this review but Dark Ride does have some creepy music, a cool killer and some creepy moments going for it, it’s just that they are so few and far between that I got bored waiting for something to happen.
OVERALL SUMMARY
The film perhaps looks good but aesthetics aside it’s a boring ride.
