Writer and producer and Fango scribe Brian O’Toole sent Fango along a couple of exclusive behind-the-scenes pics from his slasher movie BASEMENT JACK with the news that a teaser trailer has just debuted at its official website.
You can check out the images and a couple of previous snaps below.
Eric Peter-Kaiser, who produced the film with O’Toole and plays the homicidal title role has said, “The film’s director, Michael Shelton, took some time from finishing the visual effects to create a brief but startling teaser that really captures the spirit of BASEMENT JACK.”
Peter-Kaiser’s character, a.k.a. Jack Riley, is a former abused child who hides out in the cellars of happy families hoping to purge his personal demons, but is triggered into murderous mania whenever a lightning storm blows up. “Where our first film, EVILUTION, was more of a horror version of THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, BASEMENT JACK is the gore-soaked, jump-out-of-your-seat thriller that we’ve always wanted to make,” Peter-Kaiser continues. “Michael Shelton [a visual FX veteran] really embraced the material and ran with it. The gruesome magic he has created with his digital pen gives the film really jolting visions of terror. The teaser is only a quick peek into the gut-wrenching slaughter that Jack Riley inflicts with his trusty blades.”
EVILUTION, whose official site can be found here, and BASEMENT JACK (both of which are being scored by HALLOWEEN sequels veteran Alan Howarth) are the first two chapters of a trilogy that O’Toole says will be concluded with a feature called THE NECROPOLITAN. This film, he explains, “is where all questions will be answered, and where all hell breaks loose for The Manager and those unfortunate enough to be trapped inside the apartment building when it does. This time around, a gargoyle is resurrected and wreaks havoc on a group of college students. Rest assured, the body count will be staggering and the blood will flow freely.”
