Variety reports that Robert Englund is returning to the director’s chair to make ‘The Vig’, a gothic horror.
‘The Vig’ is based on a novel by Russian writer Nikolaj Gogol and is about an evil genie who “conditions the actions of a young priest, leading him to commit murder and fall in love with an old witch who is actually not what she seems.”
Christopher Lee will play a character called The Father, a God-like figure, and it begins shooting in April in a medieval village called Civita di Bagnoregio, located in the middle of Italy.
As reported yesterday (here) Englund will not be asked back for the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
