DISTRIBUTION DEAL FOR MANSON FAMILY
The long road for Jim VanBebbers THE MANSON FAMILY (formerly CHARLIES FAMILY) to the big screen is finally coming to an end. Dinsdale Releasing, a division of the Chicago-based film publicity and marketing company The Dinsdale Group, has announced that it has made a deal with MPI Home Video, which had acquired distribution rights to the film, to bring MANSON to art-house theaters across the U.S. this September. VanBebber began the independent project 15 years ago, self-financing the movie and later screening a rough cut at genre venues like the Fantasia film festival, where it won enthusiastic response. Blue Underground kicked in completion money this past year, and MANSON went on to win the Best Feature award at this years New York Underground Film Festival. The movie will be released uncut and unrated, with a video release (including a jam-packed DVD) to follow next year from MPI.
