    Birth Rite (2003)

By Phil Davies Brown on November 4, 2003 Reviews

On her 18th Birthday, Rebecca sees a young man watching her through her
classroom window a la Michael Myers, however, rather than wearing a mask,
the attractive Roman uses his appearance to hide his murderous side.

Basically, Rebecca finds out that she is a witch and Roman wants to take
her over to the dark side.

This film had one of the weakest opening scenes ever, but finds it’s feet
after the title sequence and ends up being quite good.

Director Devin Hamilton appears to be a very ambitious man, as the film
may have a low budget, but that does not prevent it from being quite
competently written, acted, directed, edited and packaged.

The cast including rising star Laura Nativo and the fabulous Brinke
Stevens are all very good, but it is Julie Strain and her sister Lizzy
that have the most hilarious scene in the film and they play it for laughs
    to great results.

The cast and crews efforts really transpire onto the screen and whilst
this is an independent film it really manages to live up to it’s
    ambitions.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
If you do decide to watch this, you must judge it on it’s own merits. If
you expect this to be better than ‘The Craft’ you will ultimately be
    disappointed.
