This had to be the most boring, repulsive and sickeningly vile collection of short films I have ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of short films.
Each of the cheap and nasty tales is strung together by a person slashing their way through an old rag, whilst some dodgy music and sound sample plays in the background.
The first tale ‘The Dog Who Tried Crack’ or something to that effect was an absolutely pointless tale, which is basically summed up by it’s title.
The next tale saw a man kill his wife, and confess after she haunts him, and it was obviously made 20 years prior to release.
Next we have a guy whose oatmeal talks to him and makes him have sex with animal skin. This is followed by a tale of two teens who are bored with life and contemplate suicide.
The final tale was quite unsettling and made me feel sick, as it sees a woman whose husband is sexually abusing his son, mutilate her body in an attempt to turn attention away from their boy. This tale has been most noted for the scenes where the woman cuts off her lips before allowing her husband to cut off her breasts and his penis.
The first four tales ranged from poorly made to boring to strange to unsettling, but this would only be worth watching for the final and titular tale ‘Cutting Moments’ and I wouldn’t recommend it for entertainment purposes.
I shouldn’t laugh but in one scene the filmmaker tries to highlight abuse by having a child put two power rangers in a sexual position. It would have been more obvious however if he had used two male power rangers, as most people won’t find it strange to see Jason and Trini getting it on.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Not recommended but fans of the obscure, the bizzare or anything weird will no doubt have a field day with this.
