This movie may have a sucktacular reputation but I found it to be competently made and mildly amusing in a low budget sense.
The film concerns Billy, a lumbering adult disabled with the mind of a youth who has grown up locked in a room facing the local drive-in. Billy has physically matured with a range of Troma movies for company and it seems that the flicks have had a profound effect on him as he escapes and turns dangerously violent.
The film features a largely unknown cast, who do a decent job, and whilst the film has a real low budget, it was well lit and competently shot and edited.
The film has something to say about the effects of horror movies on fragile young minds, but all but abandons the idea towards the end, so it just seemed like an excuse to get the movie made.
The film isn’t too gory and the deaths are nothing special but they are realistic in accordance to the budget, and are well handled.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Troma fans and B-movie lovers will be sure to enjoy watching this at least once. Look out for an early appearance from Eric Jungman who went on to star in ‘Not Another Teen Movie’ and ‘Monster Man’.
