    Faces of Death IV (1990)

By Phil Davies Brown on August 28, 2005 Reviews

Anyone who has seen any of the previous three entries in this series of supposedly real deaths caught on camera, knows what to expect. Whilst it does include some really disgusting moments of tragic accidents and murders caught on tape, it also adds further suspicion to the ‘fact or fiction?’ debate by showcasing some awful acting, and a cast list which includes names such as Abraham Linkino, not to mention that they credit a production designer and PA’s.

The clips range from plane crashes to various accidents to animal murder, and even a guy who is drawn and quartered between four horses.

There are some moments that appear to be genuine and others that are blatantly staged, but the trick is that we expect the worst, and the filmmakers know it.

I found myself shielding my eyes fearing the worst, only to peek through my fingers on more than one occasion, to discover that they had used a jump cut to get out of showing the supposedly real incident.

This is a must for fans of real horror and anyone who is brave enough to watch it out of morbid curiosity, but it does begin to drag.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
Highly repetitive in nature and of quite poor audio and video quality in places, lets just hope that this really is the final part (although I’m pretty sure there are two ‘best of’ titles available).
