Michael Cooney who enjoyed success with last years hit movie ‘Identity’
cut his teeth with this seasonal tale of a serial killer re-incarnated as
a murderous snowman, and despite it’s budget constraints, his talent
shines through.
On his way to be executed Jack Frost is in an accident with a genetic
research truck carrying a secret chemical that kills him, but allows him
to morph into a snowman.
The film is full of humour and does a good job of creating festive mood
whilst supplying plenty of gory christmas themed deaths.
The cast including Shannon Elizabeth in her first film role as Jill, are all very good and I have to say considering she has a bit part, the
actress playing Jill’s mother leaves a lasting impression as a mother
trying to deal with the death of her son.
OVERALL SUMMARY
This festiveley jolly fright flick was unfortunately followed by a so-so
sequel.
