Whether you enjoyed this film or not, there is no denying that it is a competently made and somewhat original chiller despite starting out like so many other DTV horror flicks.
Scott Bairstow heads a cast of largely unknown actors in a trek across the Namib that has fatal consequences. The troupe uncover a few sets of bones and quickly discover that whilst they appear to have been there for a long period of time, the victims had only died hours earlier.
The film scores the majority of it’s points for aesthetics, as it really does make generic desert look truly beautiful be it night or day thanks to some great lighting, photography and minimalist production design.
The cast are all capable but no one really stands out from the crowd, as the script basically covers all the requisite cliches of the survival horror genre from in fighting to love triangles.
OVERALL SUMMARY
The Bone Snatcher is not an amazing film by any stretch, but it is a competently made and aesthetically pleasing take on a premise that could have been pure cliche.
