The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994)

This film actually started out well but like the rest of the sequels ran into a heap of problems and ended up a mess.

Basically a remake of the first, the film sees a group of friends drive out to the boonies on prom night only to run into the cannibal clan.

This has some funny moments and even a couple of scares but can’t seem to decide whether it is a horror film or a comedy.

Most notable for featuring a pre-fame Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey, the film ends up making no sense whatsoever.

A decent cast give decent performances and it’s worth a watch but it is badly cut and confusing.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
Not an amazing film, but not a truly awful one either. There is no reason for Renee Zellweger to pretend she was never in this as she gives a good performance. It’s not her fault the movie sucked, so she shouldn’t have to hide from her horror past.
