Years after Ghosts of Mars failed to set the box-office alight (although I enjoyed it) John Carpenter returns!
The Ward sees Amber Heard committed to a mental hospital after torching a farm house. The residents are all disturbed young women but there’s more going on than meets the eye as the girls are being bumped of one by one by an angry ghost!
I really liked this film and considering this was largely seen as a straight to DVD/Blu-ray release this is an undiscovered gem. The cast were solid, the setting was great and Carpenter did a really good job with the material.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Although this had a theatrical release here in the UK, I wish the US distributors had made more out of the film’s release stateside, as it may have spurred Carpenter on. We need more films from this great talent. I’d recommend you add this to you rental list or catch it on VOD.
