When a group of annoying Wiggas and bling bitches are annihilated by a psycho in a kick ass clown costume, you know you’re going to have a good time with a horror flick. So begins Drive-Thru, Brendan Cowles and Shane Kuhn’s comedy horror about deep fried crispy critter Horny the Clown.
When Horny begins killing seniors from Blanca Carne High School it’s up to intrepid 17 year old year book photographer Mackenzie Carpenter to uncover the reasons for the murders. Can she uncover secrets from the past before Horny kills her too?
The film is wacky from the get go thanks to ‘zany’ characters and nonsensical plot devices such as the clues Mackenzie receives about forthcoming deaths via Magic 8 Ball and Etch-a-Sketch (I kid you not).
Some of the cast, including our heroine are quite likeable, there are a few chuckles, gory deaths, a mini chase scene and a cameo from Morgan Spurlock to keep you entertained. I saw this for free on the UK’s Zone Horror channel when it premiered last month and was mildly entertained throughout.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Drive-Thru brings nothing new to the genre but is worth a watch.
