    Hell Asylum (2002)

By Phil Davies Brown on July 20, 2004 Reviews

Originally conceived as Prison of the Dead 2, Hell Asylum is another fine turn from director Danny Draven which sees him tackle the now over used reality TV aspect, and he manages to make it stand out from a slew of imitators and similarly themed films.

Women agree to take part in a televised night of terror in an abandoned building with the hopes of winning 1 million dollars but the night proves to be eventful for many reasons.

With limited resources and a small yet excellent cast, Danny Draven has managed to make a fun and memorable little movie that stands head and shoulders above the rest.

There is plenty gore on offer and the film is once again excellently edited with great sound design.

Someone please give Danny a million to make a movie, as he has done a fantastic job with a small budget, so one can only imagine what he is capable of with some real money behind him.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
A fun movie with everything horror fans could ever expect still managed to have a sense of freshness about it in a time when everyone was churning out low budget horror movies revolved around the reality TV phenomenon, and I’ll tell you it is a hell of a lot better than Halloween Resurrection.
