Sandra Bullock stars in this spooky thriller about a woman who has a premonition about her husband’s death and then attempts to stop it from happening.
The film lacks power from the outset as the marketing campaign alone manages to ruin every element of surprise before you’ve seen a single frame. Nevertheless, Premonition is a decent enough rainy day flick. It’s the kind of fare that wouldn’t be out of place in the line up at a ladies coffee morning.
Bullock is okay, McMahon isn’t really in it that much and whilst Elise Neal does the best that she can with a rubbish role, the character is terribly misplaced. This is the palest film I have ever seen and they throw in a lively obligatory black best friend. I smell an equal opportunities deal here.
This to me seems like a drama that had a supernatural element attached to ensure it was slightly more exciting that it originally would have been.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Premonition is an okay way to kill two hours but it’s more the kind of thing I’d buy my mum on DVD in an attempt to slowly and steadily convert her to horror, than buy myself.
