This hotly anticipated horror movie from director Rolfe Kanefsky is gaining a lot of attention for its talented cast which includes Chucky and Tiffany. By that I mean Brad Dourif and goddess and close personal friend Tiffany Shepis.
I prayed that the film would live up to it’s hype and it did. Focusing on a group of pledges that must spend a night in the infamous Hack House in order to become members of a combined Fraternity/Sorority, The Hazing is the funniest and bloodiest film that I have seen since ‘The Convent’ was released in 2000.
I wondered why a low budget horror film had attracted such a wonderful cast but quickly realised that it was all down to the well written and fun script that provides many laughs, scares, jumps and shocks.
The cast are all excellent here, even the annoying characters, and the film manages to capture the spirit of 80’s classics like ‘Night of the Demons’ and ‘Hell Night’.
There are many great references to ‘The Evil Dead’ to be found as well as a recurring joke concerning Bruce Campbell (who kindly let the filmmakers poke fun at him) and the actresses don’t mind baring all either.
This isn’t out in the UK for a while yet but you should check it out as soon as you get the chance!
OVERALL SUMMARY
The Hazing is the perfect film to watch on Halloween night with your friends and is truly the greatest low budget straight to video horror film I have seen in years!!
